I got a 95 ranger that my girlfriend laid on its top, the only thing it hurt was the cab. I bought a 97 ranger same specs with a blowed motor . Which is the lesser of 2 evils swaping out the cabs or swaping out the motors?

I'd deff say the motor would be the easier thing to swap.

To swap a cab, you have to disconnect all of the wiring for the motor anyway, pull the radiator, and fight with the body mounts. Then you have to be able to lift it up. If you can't rig up some overhead hoist, then you'll want to strip the doors, fenders and anything else off of it so it's easier to lift.

Motor is way easier to change. If the bolts on the back of the trans are worrying you put a jack under the tranny cross brace unbolt it lower it down and you can get to the bolts over the top of the tranny with long socket extensions and a swivel.Something else if you change the cab is your going to have the wrong VIN number which will eventually problems at selling time.
