any one got any ideas why its not working right i replaces it yesterday and noticed that it didnt go off when i shut the door. i checked the switch on the dash didnt do anything checked both doors didnt do anything im lost :dunno:
any 1 got any ideas on whats going on?

just a thought its happened to me is your truck a supercab. my 99 has the two little doors and if they are not shut tight when u close the driver door/passenger door it seems to be shut and all looks like normal but its not.

The door light switch is in the latch assembly of the door. If you do not want to pull the latch out try spraying WD40 or PB Blaster into the latch assembly and work the latch over and over like 20 - 25 times. This may help to loosen the switch/latch - also closing and opening the door several times.
The light switch sticks and must be loosened, also try some WGF (Wet Graphite Film) lubricant (on the truck - LOL).

Good Luck

thanx ill have to try that when ever the rain stops

So how did you fix it in your truck.
I also have a 4door supercab and I have the same problem. I just removed the bulbs from the dome light so my batt wouldnt die. It seems to only happen when its cold outside. Ill get in and the stupid door ajar light wont go out. but I broke the dome cover and now I just pop the bulb in when I need the light, otherwise I just keep them in the center console.

I know I shouldnt jerry rig my truck but when it first happend I had no idea how to fix it and I couldnt have my battery dieing on me.

ok i tryed doing what that link said 4x4 junkie and im lost on what im turning a 1/4 turn if any one has a picture of what im turning so i can get a better idea
