Dome light when turning

I have an unusual problem. My dome light and the warning light for my door being ajar come on every time I make a hard right turn. It seems to do it more often lately. It's a 2005 ranger with four doors. I read that the switch is part of the actual door latch is that right? I figure it's the driver side that's doing it.

I was reading through the forum and saw a lot of people complaining about this and spraying the lock with wd40. I sprayed it down and sure enough it fixed the problem! I guess the switch was sticking.

Yes, I've read of this also and glad you found the problem from others experience...

Seems to be that many people in Rangers make hard right turns...maybe Ford didn't expect their little trucks to be driven so enthusiastically...

If the problem returns I may bypass the switch, I've read about others who have ended up doing that.

It's actually good to know that this is possible or has an easy fix...some day I might own a newer model Ranger...and I have some friends that own them now...
