dome light not working

[DFracing]

2002 xlt supercab
changed the bulbs to white led's
at first one didnt work then it worked and the other didnt,
now they both dont work
connectors under the dome light are all connected,
and i didnt blow the fuse my wipers and door dinger still worked.
do i need a neww assembly or can the connectors go bad?

Could be a bad connection, broken wire, etc. where the wires connect to the socket. I'd take out the assembly if possible and inspect the wiring. Make sure you have a good ground. Sometimes a connection from an assembly to the vehicle frame is used as the ground. If the assembly has only one wire connected, suspect a bad ground.

Also, it could be dirty contacts in the socket. Radio Shack has an excellent contact cleaner. It comes in handy for cleaning electrical contacts on many types of electrical/electronic equipment. Try the link.
