Having serious problems getting the tranny to drop seems like the tranny is hanging up on everything. Any suggestions or prior experiences that might help before i drag the truck to pick n' pull?

Yup, though some folks claim otherwise, it's next to impossible to remove an RBV V6 transmission with the Y-pipe installed. There is an exception for body lifts or for suspension lifts that drop or remove the radius arm bracket.

There just isn't enough space between the top of the transmission tunnel and the radius arm bracket to clear BOTH the bellhousing and the Y-pipe.

So in my BII, since I have extended radius arms I shouldn't have to drop the y-pipe to get the transmission in and out? If that is the case, that is sweet!

In my '97 Ranger when I did the swap, I didn't have to drop the y-pipe. Granted I had a body lift also.

i got both my auto out and manual in without dropping the exhaust, no lift what so ever on the truck, i used a prybar on the bottom of the tranny to push the exhaust down, lifted up on the tranny whit the motor tilted down and it came out. Lucky me, i get to do it again this weekend:pissedoff:

The body lifts help a great deal. Getting the Y pipe down without breaking bolts sometimes is a pain.
