So I have dropped a 4.0L into my B2. I have started putting the wiring harness in and just have a couple questions:

1) Is the o2 sensor the same on the 2.9L and 4.0L? Can I just plug in the o2 sensor that is already attached to my exhaust or is there a 4.0L specific one?

2) What the hell is this supposed to plug into? Its pretty big and thus I assume important. It is on the passenger side of the motor.

Any help is much appreciated.

That plug plugs into a ingition control module I think, it's mounted on the core support on the passenger side of the rad on the doner vehicle. Can't answer your O2 sensor question, the 4.0 I'm using has 2...

More than likely, you will need a new O2 sensor.

When I did my swap, my '89 2.9 used a 3-wire O2 and the '91 4.0 used a 4-wire.

Luckily the 4.0 Y-pipe I had bought had 2 sensors in it.

^^^^ That is correct. I did the swap as well and had to use the O2 sensors from the donor vehicle because of the different number of wires going to the sensor. I used the y-pipe from the donor vehicle (Explorer) because of the two sensors. And yes, that plug is from the ignition module if I remember correctly.

So I bought a new o2 sensor and it has 4 wires on it, but the plug in my wiring harness only has 2. Is there different styles? What years did you guys use for the swap? My harness is from a 91 ranger.

That is the connector for the EDIS Module. Should mount in front of the battery.

Figured out my o2 sensor. I was lookin at the wrong plug. Just one of those things you do when you get too excited about a new motor.
