Hey all, new here. Been associated with car forums before. I've owned 6 vehicles in the last 7 years. Kind of a curse, but I love it! This time round its a nice little Ranger XLT 3.0L V6 2WD with the M5R1. Has 86,000 miles or just over 137000 kms on it. Its a 1996. Very little rust. Picked it up for $250 from a friend, put in new ball joints, tie rod ends, rotors, pads, bearings, front springs. Pretty simple design from ford made it easy to work on. Had the spindles blasted. Love the durable design on parts. Reminds me of my Tacoma.
I've had the following wheels:
2002 Scooby
1983 AMC Eagle SX/4
2002 Tacoma V6 4x4
2000 Silverado 4.3L V6 5 speed
**** Civic... lets not go there
Current: Ranger
Transmission was driven by owners daughter... kinda killed it. Needs a rebuild soon. No biggie. Totally just sold my rare AX15 tranmission last year too.
So I'm not new to working on cars/trucks at all. Definitely love working on them and I'm super picky and anal.
Anyway just saying hey before I start digging in. I'll eventually do a write up on removing the front spindles and doing ball joints on this 2WD beast. I didn't see one when I was searching.
Ya'll have a good one. Your friendly Canadian, Scott
