Just wondering. I would like to get you guys experience with this. MIne seems to have a little growl when driving.

Definatly not Honda V6 quiet.

From the cab mine is a little throaty but if your outside of it, it is really raspy and gross sounding but if i got exaust for it, it would prolly sound a lot better.

A lot of the raspy sound comes from the stock rockers; the metal on metal contact. The roller rockers take that sound away and the engine sounds way "cleaner" if that makes sense.

Mine has a sound similar to a 90 year old man coughing up a lung.

the only growl i get out of mine is the trans but other then that it dont sound bad

Also, if the air restrictor is removed from the air box, it has a nice little growl under acceloration. Sounds nice.

I had a 3.0 in the past. Sounded awful. If I want to hear my engine making all of it's noises I'll buy an exhaust that fits the bill. Other than that I want my DD to be quit and comfortable and I'll let my International ProStar be loud.

i love the way my engine sounds. i have a cone filter and in makes it more sensitive i feel. I hear the injector click and the rocker click but otherwise it is gtg. I hear a transmitted click from under the truck around the tranny but it seems to happen on all 3.0Ls but no real growl. maybe because i have an exhaust but individual opinions on these kinds of threads

mine growls, but ive got a k&n filter and a flowmaster 60 series, so it is really a only a growl and not a roar.
