I was just wanting to know if there was a bodylift available for an 08' 4x4 FX4 ranger that is less than 3". With my torsion bar leveling, running 265/75 r16 tires I have no clearance issues, I just would like a little more space between the fenders and my tires for those oh' sh*t ruts out at my hunting lease. Water levels here in N. Fl. are pretty high right know in low lying areas.

You can get a 1" BL

No...you can't get one, but you can build one. There are no 1" kits out there. You can however, piece one together by getting approx 30mm longer bolts, and twelve 1x3" PA lift blocks. Thats all you need: longer bolts, and blocks. Rear bumper leave it. Front bumper, notch the holes in the frame to lift the bumper up. Blocks are about $2 each. Bolts depend on where ya go, but I made my entire kit for approx $60.

Here's an excellent thread about the 1" BL mod. If you are not a member yet, join the forum. I really enjoy it there.

You are an '08.....I REALLY suggest replacing your torsion keys with torsion keys from a 07 and older truck. You do this, you will gain approx 1.5-1.75". You see, in '08, for clocked the keys a little bit where the torsion bar slides into it, thus creating a lower ride height. I've personally checked part numbers and parts...and that is what ford did to those 08+ torsion bar trucks to make them so low. Lower arms, bars, upper arms, etc are all the same. They only changed the keys. Get keys, then go from there. DO NOT GET LIFT KEYS!!! After all that, you can get 07 and older 2.5" rear blocks to gain 1" of lift back there too. Thing is...08+ torsion bar trucks are factory lowered about 1.5" compared to an 07 torsion bar truck.

I have a feeling when someone reads what i just said, they'll say 'ball joints!' and 'undo stress' and 'excessive wear'...yes....putting in 07 keys may be considered a lift key. BUT....They came on ALL 07 and older torsion bar trucks.....Ford factory parts...OEM...nothing else changed....so it should be a-okay in the alignment department, and wear department. It'll put the same amount of 'twist' on the bars as the 07 and older trucks. It'll allow you to have your truck at the same 'crank' amount, but be taller. To the people that say no to this 'PreKey mod', come on now...it's STOCK for STOCK parts when nothing else in the front suspension changed.

Oh....it's called the 'PreKey Mod'. lol.

Hmm. I thought there was a 'kit'. Thanks for the correction:beer:
I'm actually thinking about a 1" BL myself.

The only 1" 'kit' out ther that I know of, is for a TJ or YJ wrangler.
