I have a 66 361 dodge motor I was wanting to slide into my 92 ranger it's already got a 727 behind I and I have a 9in ford rear end I can bolt in anybody done a dodge engine swap have any input?

That link posted by Ron shows the Mopar to be 2" longer, 3.5" longer but the killer looks like 200 lbs heavier. Never seen that series of motors swapped.

i have worked on la engine setups, and have seen big block chrysler ford and gm installs.

its the same in basics across the board. there were some 413 trucks in ranger and dakota in the lincoln park area at one point as well.

Dunno nothing about them but you need this intake :D:

They look friggin cool :icon_thumby:

it needs that blow by tube after 10000 miles too. :D

the Chrysler "B" engine is the shortest stroke and thus the revviest character of any of the common big block engines

The part that needs to be understood is that the short deck "B" engine
(as opposed to the 413, 426wedge and 440 RB (raised deck or long stroke B engine))
has the same stroke as the small block LA engines (273/318/340 engines)

The RARE 383 long ram crossram manifold above plays t the revvy nature of the Chrysler B engine, the best part of doing this swap is that once you have a 361 in and running you can replace it with a 383 or 400.

But I will note that your 361 is an engine that will not be happy with unleaded gas as it was designed for the lead additive of 1960's gasoline to protect the valve seats.

the only B engines produced in the unleaded gas era were the B-400 and the RB-440, but I would not recommend swapping on later heads unless they are left bolted to the larger engine they came from...

I used to have a dodge 300 maxiwagon van with a built 400 and a 727 trans t would pass everything but an Amoco station and drag anything like it wasn't there

Particularly after I removed the Edelbrock Victor single plane manifold and holley 850 DP carb the misguided previous owner
put on it in favor of a stock dual plane manifold and
a Rejetted Carter AVS I robbed off my spare 340 Dart engine (Betcha you didn't know I was a Dodge guy long ago...:)
