Do you think i should buy this 03 f-150 lariat 5.4 v8 4wd =)

20 years old
116k miles
$12k

Hard pass.

And for being at a used car lot the interior plastics are either filthy or horribly oxidized. Leather seats are starting to dry out and crack, clearcoat is coming off the topper... an '03 for $12k better be a low mile museum piece.

So you think that 03 in its condition is not worth $12,000 ??

How about this dakota https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/92692997

Its a lot cleaner.

I wouldn't pay $10k for it though.

But the used market is really goofy right now.

Really if you have a good ride I would wait until things even out.

You think that dakota is cleaner than the f-150 ??

I could get that dakota for maybe $9,000.

Why is the used market goofy right now.

I have a good ride i have my 2002 ford ranger fx4 off road that i bought with my own money for $10,500 in early part of december 2022 so 33/4 months ago

Look at prices pre covid and look at todays prices. You will find trucks that were 3 years newer then, were anywhere from 5k to 10k cheaper than today, and there at least 3 years older with more miles on them. The used car market is a joke right now. You pretty much paid half what your truck would of cost new 21 years ago.

I honestly dont think that 150 is a bad deal. But of course i live in a rusty state and most trucks that year are rotted away and bringing 3-4k.

If that 03 has a 3 valve 5.4, run as fast as you can away from it. They had a lot of problems with those engines. I looked it up, 03 is right there when they came out with the 3 valve. If it's a regular 2 valve it should be ok. I agree though, 12,000 for a 20 year old truck is a little high to me.

03 is just the PI 2valve. 3v started in 04

You should be able to find something better and not 200 miles away from you in another state.

Id keep your 93

For gods sakes stay away from the dakota. I've known to many with wiring and transmission issues even with lower mileage. That f150 is tops a 10k truck. Especially since it is the 2v 5.4. My buddy at a car lot just sold a excellent condition 94 chevy 1500 ext cab 2wd for 11,800 with one owner 134,000 original miles. I know its not a f150 but prices are still up there.

So my ranger went for about $21,000 new you think ?
