do you have to remove pinion shaft and c-clips

Just pull the cross pin bolt to turn or remove the cross pin, then pull the c-clips and the axle shaft just pull right out. Very easy to do.

Nope. Basicly the c clips need removed to pull the shafts. Some cross pins have notches in the middle to push the axle in to give room to pull the clip. Other cross pins have the notch at the end so it will need to be pulled out some to push the shaft in to remove the clip. Try the search option on here to see if anything comes up. Also try the tech library section

Good luck and dont strip the cross pin retaining bolt. You will have to pull the carrier to remove the retaining bolt. That is a pain.

Carrier is the differential carrier that holds the ring gear and spiders and side gears.

ok, i replaced the wheel bearings and seals, i didnt have to remove the carrier the retaining bolt pulled out far enough to let the pin slide out. do you have to somehow reseat the axle shafts?

Reseat? Not sure on what your asking. All you have to do is put it back together the way you took it apart. Fill it with new gear oil and take it for a drive.

ok i was just makin sure there was a step i had mised because it seemed to easy to be true. thanks for the help, and it was very simple once you got the hang of where everyhting is
