do we have "classic" cars?

are the gen one rangers/bronco2s going to be one of those "classic" autos that people will want in 20 years?

I know a good gen one is getting harder to find and i hardly see them on the road. but they always catch my eye when I see one.

Look at model t and a fords, lots of those were made and are now very collectable. I don't think rbv's will ever be that collectable but thay will be a niche.

Yeah, def not collectable like the older cars. Maybe in another 50 years. But any good condition vehicle that old is somewhat desierable.

I suspect a BII is more likely than Ranger, but I doubt either will be really sought. They are a niche. For those who really love these vehicles. Never going to be a collectible like a 68 muscle car.

Not that a BII or Ranger is in the same class as a Yugo, but those things have gotten rare pretty quick cause they are so terrible and that rarity hasn't translated into any value. A good condition Yugo probably gets more value for its joke value than its rarity.

I don't know...some of the things I had when I was a kid are worth quite a bit now...I project that a good condition Ranger (gas powered) will be worth quite a bit in about 30 years...just look at the trend to eliminate gas powered vehicles now...replacing them with electric or rubber band power...but with this trend we could also see todays vehicles being shunned or the damage they've done to the planet...not so much if we colonize Mars or some other planet...

Hmmm....maybe we should ship a few million gas burners to another planet to help convert the atmosphere to something closer to earth...

Well, I guess you never know. Maybe it'd be like the first gen bronco?!

All I know is, I literally have the only first gen in town. At least one moving under its own power. I plan to hold onto mine for as long as I possibly can regardless of its value.. It doesn't seem old to me but I drive the oldest car in the parking lot at work every day so guess that makes it a classic or vintage truck after all.

I also think trucks have somewhat of a cool factor when they're old, regardless of what they are. Think of all the old cars you'd probably not seek out as a classic. Old k car Chryslers, various 70s land yachts, ect, but trucks are easier to love because on top of just being awesome, most people have run trucks into the ground and crush them. Not to mention somes dad or grampa "had one forever that never let 'em down" - Old trucks are survivors...especially when now when a vehicle to most people I know is basically an appliance to them.

For me, I bought mine because I remember them being everywhere when I was little (80's kid). A lot of people acquire them because they were the first cars that they owned. There's probably a nostalgia like that for every vehicle ever made. lol

My '47 GMC pick up was an old truck when I had it. I wish I had it today. The same with my 60 F 100. or the 57 Chevy 1/2 ton. 60 VW van, 49 GMC panel van, or any of my various bugs. I guess I have a knack for driving classics when they were just old shitboxes

I've had Impalas (65s, 66, 68s, 69, 70), Chevelles (67s, 68 SS396, 70s, 72s, 78, 79, 80,81), 66 Chevy HD 1/2t, 71 F100 w/BBP, Camaros (69 Z/28, 70, 73, 74, 76, 79, 84), Monte Carlos, Pontiac GPs, and list goes on & on, as I've owned over 100 vehicles in 40yrs of drivin.

BUT, I did get my 72 Chevelle SS Convertible that I sold to my folks in 97 back when my Dad passed in 2012(lost Mom in 03)
