I was sitting at a light this evening and looking in my passenger sideview mirror, noticed a little bit of white smoke coming out of my exhaust, and my heart jumped into my throat. Instantly thought I've blown a head gasket. I pulled it into the garage later to do some other minor repairs and checked the oil. Oil is honey colored like it should be, and I haven't noticed any coolant loss since I just noticed this a couple hours ago. I let it idle for a while and it sounded normal, I was just getting a little white smoke and a little bit of water dripping out the tail pipe. I just replaced my motor two months ago, please tell me this is not a blown head gasket!!!!!

I really doubt it's actually smoke.. what was the temperature and humidity at the time you noticed this "white smoke"? You know when you go outside and its cold and you can see your breath? Well your exhaust does the same thing, and seeing that you are from Washington, I would be willing to bet it wasnt extremely warm there today. If your oil checks out as stated and is honey colored and not milky looking like caramel that pretty much rules out the blown head gasket. Coolant level being where it should would also make me highly doubt it. Sooooo, I really dont think you have anything to worry about. Your baby is fine :) Keep an eye on the coolant level for the time being and if it happens to get warm there, look out your passenger side mirror and see if she's still smokin haha. Hope that all makes sense and thats about as much as my brain can comprehend right now. I'm up waaaay later than normal.

some water and steam is normal up to a point.

you would know if you had a blown head gasket when it POURS white smoke out the tailpipe and you can actually smell coolant.

Thanks guys. Yeah I think it must be the weather because it has been pretty humid and the temperature has dropped a bit. Just a little paranoid! :icon_thumby:
