distubutor drive shaft/gear?

Im have trouble finding the distributor drive shaft, I have the Haynes repair manual for my truck, but that hasn't been very much help, i've already replaced the oil pump so i know that's not my issue

Back of the engine, near center line. It is not an actual distributor, is it just a cam position sensor that drops in where the dis used to be.
