I have an '83 2.8 from a Ranger in my 87 Bronco II and I am putting in a vacuum advance distributor (which I found on the tech page here) I ordered the parts from Napa and found a three wire plug on the Distributor. I have eliminated the entire wire harness on the bronco, and need to wire this from scratch. (it's a tough truck setup, not for the street) My question is simply, what do I hook these three wires to? I assume one is power, one is ground and the other would go to the coil?? but which ones where? Forgive my stupidity please, I am foremost a fabricator, not a wrench.

The tech library has a few diagrams on how to hook the wires up and some are even color coded too. You can just use the factory coil.

I found exactly what I needed to know. I wish all websites were this complete and helpful. I am thoroughly impressed with this wealth of knowledge and it's organized structure. Kudos to those who contribute!

Anytime, we are here to help the best we can.
