i have a 2.9 and i went ot replace the cao and rotor tunrs out the ear that the cap screws on to is broke how hard is to change ?? out and i out a longer srcew on it with a nut ??
 
So...the threaded ear on the Dizzy itself broke? Is it broken all the way off? Have a Pic?

lol sorry i was in a hurry ,plus i cant type to save my life.

it isnt all the way off but enough where it wont thread and hold the other side down ,no pics sorry no camera
 
Sorry man, But I'm having trouble reading your post.


Judging by your post, if the disty part is broken, the only real way is to replace the disty (jump in if I'm wrong!). If its the cap...thats easy!

Just remove the two 10mm (Or maybe 8mm?) and with a little bit of effort, that cap will be wiggle out. Its not as bad as it looks. Just make sure to keep track of what spark plug wire is what. If not, just untangle and look up a firing order for the 2.9, lol.

The rotor itself clips into the whole on the distributor. Hope this helps!
