Hello and thanks very much for this forum. I am replacing a head gasket in 1988 Ranger 2.3L. I can't seem to find the trick of disconnecting the fuel lines from the rail. The connectors look like round stainless knobs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Figured it out. They are spring lock fittings, and there is a special tool. Dang, I hate my Haynes manual. You think they would have mentioned something like that. Instead, it is just: "Disconnect fuel line."

Hmmmm....glad you figured it out...I didn't have a problem removing the fuel lines when I stripped the frame...but mine were just nylon squeeze tabs that held it in place...and dang if I could find replacements for them that are not as brittle as the originals...

But zip ties work for puttting it back in if you can't find the originals...
