Not much progress today. Installed the sway bar.

I did pick up some Thunderbird TREs. The Mustang ones work, but I like that there will be more thread depth on these.

Also did a little more work to the filler tube.

Found a complete 5.0 Explorer today. Got the upper. Going back tomorrow for the lower and possibly the heads.

Also got the hatch all finished up minus building a box around the tank. But I ran the lines, extended the wiring, and installed the carpet, trim, and stress bar.

Also found out the Tbird TREs are metric so they won't work.

What kind of heads does the explorer have though? From what I have read, stay away from the P heads, they aren't desired as much and don't like a mustang cam without some different springs put on them.

It sucks that you have a JY like that close to you.

I'd run the p heads anyday over stock e7's, but yeah, the non p, gt40 heads are better and don't require special headers.

GT40 heads, lower, headers, motor harness, ECU, cam sensor, MAF, and injectors acquired. Also got a tubular 2.3 header.

Dang, that is tight in there.
I think if it where me, and I had the money, I would put the battery in the back, but it's your car, and you know what your doing, and a better builder then I could ever be.

posted with my rooted drag race car, and a bottle of glue.

I was kinda thinking I might end up doing that. But there would be an awkward empty spot in the bay then.

I do agree, in the back would keep under the good looking clean. Plus you won't have alot of heat on the battery either being so close to the engine, exhaust manifolds, etc...

Plus it would help with the wheelies.

A little work yesterday.

just using the stub to "complete" the knuckle....you use the nut on the end of the stub to hold the pre-load on the bearings....

why guys running D30's need to keep a spare stub out on the trail....
