disciplerocks's Ford Focus "build" thread

Lol I have 4 forums plus Facebook I post my updates to.

I have one forum and this is it.

I have thought about expanding to other ranger forums but everytime I get on one, I see alot of trashing talking to one another.

Glad to see she moves. Now for a tug of war with the other toys.

For the Focus I post to focusfanatics, blueovalfanatics, teamZX2, and here.

The Ranger is blueovalfanatics, RPS and here. Only on RPS for more mini truck tech.

The B2 is blueovalfanatics and here.

I see you having a hard time driving in rain, drifting it and replacing the 7.5.

5.0 Drift focus...I like how smooth that sounds.

Ran coolant hoses, PS lines, installed the belt, and started wiring up the alternator. But ran into some wiring issues.

Bought the wrong size couplings. Took a leftover trans line from the B2's auto swap and beat the end to make a lip.

And here's some random pics

The Mustang rack fit into the Focus steering column. Just had to notch it for the bolt.

Bleeder wouldn't fit so I punched a hole for it. Although it appears that it is still leaking.

Exhaust is still temporary. But you can see where I had to avoid the fuel lines. And where the driveshaft is rubbing in the middle.

Coat hangers work nice don't they?

Been needing to find a reamer to ream out the Focus knuckles for the Mustang TREs. So I contacted a few local wheeling guys and found one with a reamer. Going to borrow it sometime this week.

Got the alternator wired in minus the dash light. Cut a hole in the hatch to run the filler neck to the tank thats relocated in the hatch. Also pulled the fuel pump/gauge wiring up through the floor and ran it inside. Then ran the fuel lines through hole the wiring came out of. Should keep everything neater and the fuel lines away from the mufflers and rear axle.

And I picked up the correct throttle cable today. Left is the Foxbody cable, right is the correct cable.

Don't you hate the details work in a build..it's those little things that add up to a large picture.

Yes they do. I was really hoping to see some road time by this weekend, but I haven't gotten much accomplished this week. We shall see.

Went to the upull again to try to get a few things. Need knuckles, but didn't have time to get them after seeing this.

Cost me $25. Also nabbed a Mustang rear sway bar.
