disciplerocks's B2 build thread

Ah my step bro and my good buddie are running mini spools front and rear, just when they are trailing they leave one hub unlocked, when it gets harder then go lock the other hub. They havent had any problems doing most parts of the chilli challenge or anything around this area so I figured give it a shot.

Plus for under 40 bucks its hard to beat, ya i know welded would have been cheaper but ahh lets see how this goes and if worse comes to worse i will just weld the gears lol:icon_welder: i believe its gonna not let me down tho:icon_thumby:

D, do you have a hardened pin??

SVT

You got anything up front? How long you been rockin the D35 with 37s?

I see a 3/4 and a 7/8 crosspin listed. Wonder what size mine is.

I've had the 37's on the stockish 35 (gears only) for about 8 months. The 3/4 pin is for 28 Spline carriers, 7/8 pin for 31 Spline carriers, but either carrier will work in any 8.8 axle...

I kinda thought that was the difference, but wasn't sure.

I have been wheeling with the 37's since 9 months lol not much longer about to put in 4.88 and the mini spool at the same time. I need to get the hardened pin also

My bad... I have ZERO experance on the 8.8! Didnt know she was a C-clipper lol

Im very lazy, i dont wanna have to get out and lock/unlock a hub all the time.

So I found out some 8.8 shafts have the large hub, but some are the same as the explorer. So I picked up a set. Now the only thing keeping the disc brake swap from being bolt on is drilling new holes in the rotor.

Ok need some help with setting my pinion angle. My driveshaft is currently 24*. But my rear axle came out of SVT's truck (supercab) so it is a lot lower. So I need my new axle to be closer. So whats a good number? Maybe 21* to account for axle wrap?

That depends in what driveshaft you have. A double cardan you need close to zero at axle. A single joint at both ends you need close to same angle at axle and t-case. I think that is what I read.

Dustin, set the rear axle pinion inline with the driveshaft and weld your perches...
