2003 Ranger has PATS(passive anti-theft system) so starter motor is disabled without a "matched" key in ignition switch
Fuel pump and fuel injectors are also disabled
So if someone breaks into the cab they can't operate starter even if they break the key cylinder out, or pull out ignition switch under the column
And if they open the hood they could always just jump the starter with a screwdriver or other metal tool
So another hidden switch inside wouldn't help much
And it wouldn't start engine in any case, no injectors and no fuel pump
Manuals used to be easier to steal because you could "bump start"/"push start" them, lol
Just ONE "hot wire" on coil "+" and roll away quietly, then bump start it
Can't do that with automatics
Locking steering wheels took the fun out of that
And now transponder keys(matched keys), really ruin it for car thieves
A smart car thief wouldn't want to deal with PATS
A dumb car thief wouldn't know how to start it
If you are determined to do it then on the clutch switch there will be a Pink/white wire(or white/pink), AND a pink wire, they are next to each other on the switch at one end
These two wires are connected together when clutch pedal is down(switch closed), allows starter activation
If you were to put a switch on EITHER wire that would disable starter motor activation
So cut ONE of these wires and put a switch in between the two ends
Either wire only carries about 1/2 an AMP, 0.5A, 500mA, so doesn't need to be a high AMP rated switch
In 2003 Fuse 24 in cab fuse box powers the starter activation circuit
