I removed my RABS valve about 3 years ago when it began to leak. I left the wires hanging below the truck. Both the RABS and the BRAKE light were burnt out so it's not an issue.

I decided to replace the BRAKE light bulb so I could remember if I'd set my parking brake. Got a new one put in. Start the truck, BRAKE light comes on dim. I hit the parking brake and it gets brighter. Release, it goes dimmer, but stays on.

I know ABS is the cats meow, but my rears NEVER lock up anyway. The fronts do.

So, what I need to know is, how can I trick the truck to think the ABS is working so the BRAKE light only comes on when I set the parking brake. Can I unplug the ABS module? Where is it located?

Help.

When I removed mine, both lights came on. So I just bolted the RABS valve back to the frame and plugged it back in. No lights.

I knew that plugging in a new or used working abs valve on the frame would not fix the light. The reason the light was on I think has to do with the rear speed sensor. I remember before I bought the truck the father in law used to have both the RABS and th BRAKE light on.

He pulled the bulb out of the RABS slot, the base is missing, and the one that says BRAKE was broken. So plugging in another valve would have still resulted in the ABS light unless I fixed the sensor too.

I unplugged what I thought was the ABS module, but my dinger stopped working and the light was still on. So I tried again, Voila, the brake light is now off and comes on only when pressing the E-brake (and I assume if the master cylinder gets low)

So, unplugging the module kills the lights.

The weird thing is my RABS light worked, and I didn't have an exciter ring in my rear diff for over a year without any lights being set off....i never bothered to swap my exciter ring over onto my detroit locker.
