This is just a thought but i have a 3.0l dipstick layin around and i was wonderin if this would fit my 5.0l. just want to try and save a few bucks lol.

With the pan dry, add 4 quarts of oil and install filter. Run engine for a minute or so and shut it off. Wait a half hour or so to let as much oil as possible get back in the pan. Put the dipstick in. Score the stick where the oil is. Then add 1 quart of oil and repeat the process. If the stick is too long, cut it off. This is what I had to do when I did my first 302 swap.
