Dinger

Where is the dinger in my 1991 ranger? It made my battery almost go dead. I have fixed the door switch i think, but the dinger is so quiet when it goes off you can barely hear it...is there like a volume on it? if so where...if not where is the dinger so i can fix the problem

on my 94 (same interior as my 91) it was under the middle of the dash, pretty much right next to the gas pedal. theres a box under there with a harness plugging into it. take the box out and open it up, the dinger is a cylinder about 1" around and 1/2-34/" tall, take a flat screwdriver and pop it off the circuit board. idk what the rest of the box did so i plugged it back in and now nomore dinger.

Do you have to dismantle the dash at all to get to it? or is it just right by the pedal kinda?

nope right under the dash. a black box about 6in long 4in wide, similar in size to the fuse box.
