differnce in goodyear mtr vs mtr kevlar

Completely different tread design and carcass structure, while it may be a toss-up on straight mud the new MTR-Ks are a notch above the old MTR on almost every level. They are quieter and smoother then the old series and seem to have stronger sidewalls. They also come in a sticky comp version that's been kickin ass and is close to being on par with the bfg krawler red label.

With my company discount they are also a very affordable tire.

How much of a discount??:icon_idea: i just think that they would be same except that they would be more heavy duty.

My cost on 40's are $525 a tire, retail up here is something like $700? It was less then $1000 for a set of 33's last time I checked....

A little wheeling & dealing can net you some decent deals (I got mine for less than a G all mounted up & balanced).

The MT/R-Ks are also much more true to their size (even exceeding it slightly), whereas the old MT/Rs were almost a good inch short.

The old MT/R sucked pretty bad in mud, though it did perform well on hardpacked dirt and on rocks. The MT/R-K seems similarly good on rock, I haven't had them in any real mud yet.

They apparently give you no choice whatsoever whether you get the outlined white letters or not though... Some sizes come only with the OWL, while others are blackwall-only :icon_confused: (and if you don't want OWL, you can't normally just turn the tire around because of the asymmetric tread, though some do anyway).
