Today i was in the school parking lot and i kind of dropped the clutch at around 3000 and spun the tires a bit. while i was driving down the road i noticed that at 45-47 mph there is a bit of a vibration from the back, just a little, not alot. How seriouse do you think this is? it's not the transmission because when i put it in neutral it's still there. If it is the differential, do you think it's a huge deal. i don't see it as anything big, but i want to know ahead of time, thanks!

U-joint and/or Carrier bearing if you have a 2 piece shaft.

i just replaced all the u joints but i could see it, and what's the carrier bearing? the last time it was a u joint it would jump when i started excelerating and stopped when it was up to speed but i guess it could happen any time

hmmm... if it still does it when you are in neutral, couldn't be the u-joints as nothing there should be moving when you're stopped.
if you're coasting in neutral and still feel it, perhaps you twisted the driveshaft or an axle. but the u-joints would be where i'd start as well.

Just rev it up again and dump that clutch and see if it is still doing the vibrating lol....then replace you rear end!! Why did you rev it up in the first place, Bro??
Most likely you did not hurt it but keep an eye out on it. Do you hear a roaring noise coming from the rear end at highway speeds? If you have a noise like that you could already have an issue with the carrier bearing. I would just change you rear end fluid and flush it out and put fresh gear oil in it and see how that does it.

k i'll inspect the u joints, and i hope it's not the axles, because i just had them replaced haha. And i reved it up cuz one of my friends told me to. I hardly beat on it, i rarely do crap like that. but yes i think it's in need for a flush anyways so i will be doing that this weekend

you probably threw a balancing weight off the tire.

you think so? wouldn't it vibrate at all speeds or?

Yeah definately sounds like you just threw a weight off the rear tires. Most of the time a tire will only have a few ounces of weight on them so the vibrations are very minimal if they fall off and only really noticable when a tire is out of balance on the front.

k thanks for the help, i'll try to get the tires in this weekend to get checked and let you guys know if it's the answer!
