Different Master Cylinder?

I need a new master cylinder on my 93 ranger 4x4. Now I thought that they were all the same, so I took the one of my 86 parts truck. Upon install, it was the same in every way except that my 86 used a different sized flare nut for each of the two lines coming out of the master cylinder. I went to the parts store today and got a new one, but this one is identical to the one off the parts truck, it also has two different sized fittings. Now my problem is that on my truck, both the fittings are the same. Did someone switch both the hard lines and master cylinder? Or was there an alternate master cylinder?

Just buy a couple flare adapters.

Good idea, I didn't know such a thing existed. I think if I can't find any, I'm gonna just cut the right size flare nut off something at the jy, cut the end off my brake line and borrow a tool to re flare the end. That way everything will be back to stock for the future.

They exist, you probably need a 3/8 thread to 1/4 reducer or something, I've bought them before.

Got it figured... problem wasn't the master cylinder, it was me being an idiot. When I took the cylinder off the parts truck, part of the brake line broke off and was stuck in it still, and thats why the lines on the truck wouldn't thread in. After trying the new one it of course worked perfectly
