I had a 91 Explorer recently abandoned on the edge of my property for about a month.I had someone approach me about a five speed which this one had.
I found the owner and made a deal happen to get it out of the way.A lot of good parts but I don't need any.My question is I've had a 92 and 93 4.0 but this 4.0 looked different. It had a larger triangle cover over the throttle cables that has 4.0 written on it. Also has the induction hose between the engine and the maf valve is in three pieces with two hose clamps holding it together.I was surprised how fast and smooth this thing was and now curious.Sorry no pics gone to new owner already.

my 4.0 is from a 91 navajo and it also has the triangle cover over the throtle cables and has the 4.0 emblem on it

Hoping for more than one response.Thank you shadow probably a 91 was thinking maybe someone put something different in there.

Just throwing it out there.... Could it be a California truck??? Don't know how but the manual says they're different..... Hope it starts more responses
