Hello

Does any one know the difference in torque converter between a 85 2.8l A4LD and 94 4.0l A4ld. Ford has different part numbers for them.

Mainly stall speed.

Hello

I am using the 4.0l torque converter on my 2.8l so how would that effect the transmission?
If you need any more info on my setup please ask.

Using the 4.0l converter behind the 2.8 may make the engine feel like a dog because of the lower stall speed. A 2.8 converter may make the 4.0l rev more ( like a high stall in a race car ) due to the higher stall speed.

Well that explains why its seems so under powered. Time to get a 2.8l converter. Any suggestions on a good budget one? Make + Model?
