I got a question for the experts on a 93 standard cab ranger. Didn't know what forum to put this in and did'nt find anything as to this particular question. I recently took the bed off and replaced my fuel pump assembly. After relacing and puttin bed back on, I went and filled it up. Now the guage goes from full to empty and all in between. Would this be a bad level sensor on the new assembly or something eles. Really don't want to take the bed off agian if it's not the level sensor. I went with parts store brand fuel pump assembly. If I have to change it, this time i'll get a Delphi assembly. Thanks for any reply!

Well, since that’s the last place you messed with stuff, that’s the most likely place for something to be wrong. Could be a wire got bumped loose.

This might cause that condition also.

did you replace the pigtail?

you may have to pop it off and pinch em tighter and reinstall it...preferable with some dielectric grease

No I didn't. I did use dielectric grease. Thanks for the reply. I guess my next off day the beds coming back off.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to get out of taking the bed off again.

I can get to it without pulling the bed

worst case leave the back two loose and prop the bed up a little.

reason 657246 to have a 3 inch body lift.
