I found a cold air intake for my 05 Ranger edge 4.0 but is says its only for 2001-2003 4.0 Sohc Rangers. Has anyone been able to make this fit an 05? Its nice and cheap, so Id like to see if it will work. Once you go from 2003 and up 4.0 motors the cold airs get super expensive. Any suggestions would be appreciated. That intake will not work. Look closely at the kit and you'll notice 2003 and older trucks use a MAF sensor housing in which the MAF sensor slides into. On 2004 and newer trucks the intake plumbing is formed to accept the MAF sensor, therefore eliminating a separate MAF housing.

On a side note, I would not run that intake if someone paid ME $40. With a shiny piece of tin providing the ONLY barrier between engine compartment heat and the filter you will see an increase in AIT readings over the stock air box. I run a volant intake because its the only aftermarket intake that provides an airbox to protect the filter from engine heat. The radiator fan is right there, it WILL blow hot air in the direction of an open filter element.
