Diesel hose OK for gas hose?

I pulled the bed off my 2000 2.5L 4x2 this weekend to replace the leaf-spring mounts. I noticed that the fuel-filler hoses are spent, all rotted out, and could use replacing now that the bed is out of the way and it is an easy fix. After getting a quote from Ford of $350 for a total replacement (including the metal neck, which I do not need) I decided to look elsewhere. I got the bent 1 1/2 ID filler hose coming from a local Carquest. The problem is that there is also a 3/4 ID vent hose adjacent to the filler hose which is in bad shape too. Nobody seems to have this available. The best I could find was at a truck shop, but the hose only reads "diesel" on the side. They cut me a piece but the guy warned me that he did not know if it would be good for gasoline as well. Gas and diesel are two different animals, so I would like to get the right part and not have problems down the road. 6 more auto-part places and I still don't have anything better. Any suggestions? Should I trust the diesel hose or not? It is only a vent hose, so no serious pressure is involved nor does fuel sit in it for long periods, although it could if you top off the tank and then don't drive the truck for a period of time.

Get the one on fleabay. It is 40 bucks and is a direct swap. Easiest fix you will do.

I am running radiator hose for the filler neck on my truck. It's not pressurized. If it leaks... Ill fix it. The parts store didn't have fuel or oil rated hose so I chose a radiator hose the proper length, angle and diameter. The parts guy was like you can't use this its not fuel rated, I said ok then I need a radiator hose for a chevette. This looks close now shut up and ring it through. Hasn't killed me yet.
