diesel engine in a 1990 ranger

hey all i am looking at the possibility of converting my weak worn out and smokey 2.3 with a 4cylinder diesel

anybody here got any ideas let me know



also unrelated to this truck i have an 88 f250 7.3 idi diesel that i need engine parts for

it lost compression in cylinders 1 and 7, i am looking for a master overhaul kit for it

try rockauto.com for your F250 kit. Make sure you do lots of notes and pictures on your diesel ranger buildup and post it here for help, ideas, and lots of moral support. There are loads of folk wanting to do the same thing.

considering your in every group ever....i cant make out whether its a 2 or 4wd application for the ranger.


2wd i suggest a benz/toyota/vw/audi/---or a 3.3 cummins based powertrain


4x4 a 4bt may be a good place to start..

my ranger project is a 2wd that will be converted to a solid axle dana 44 or narrowed dana 60 and possibly a narrowed 10.5 sterling or ford 9 inch, or i will swap to military axles not sure yet but it will definitely be a 2wd to 4wd conversion when i do it

well then, put a hypermax on your idi 7.3 and swap that stuff in.
