Diesel conversion into a 83 2.3 Gas

I blew the engine in my 83 4x4 on the way home from work Saturday. I want to convert a 2.2 or 2.3 Diesel in. I have heard my transmission will not work. What exactly do I need to make this conversion work? Thanks

i would use the trans from the engine that you swap to unless you find another trans that works with the new engine. which engine you looking for? ive seen some pretty clean and done right cummins 4bt swaps and i think they also have swap kits out there to buy to make that swap easier. but far as things you need fuel system, trans, wire harness for the engine and the engine and the radiator. but for putting it in the truck prolly need custom parts like shortened/lengthened driveshafts, motor mounts, trans mounts,
