i think the 93 cali model has one too. you can just unplugg it to test it. truck runs fine without it on the 93 and 94. its kinda burried under the ICM where the distributor would be. if you have one you'll see it there, if not there will just be a plug in the dizzy hole.
This is another one of those things that's not worth replacing on a guess. on my 94 the cam synchronier was probably one of the hardest things to change. I'd rather change a clutch than the cam synchronizer. Not to mention it's about 80 bux.
If i were you i'd have the new ICM tested. Also is the truck throwing any codes? like danger said it could be the crank shaft sensor.
What's it doing now anyways? just refusing to start or is it just dying randomly?
