Glad that I took off my 33's & went back down to 235's due to 2.3L,5spd & 4.10 gears. Had a bit more power as I needed it.

On my way home a Semi-Tow Truck rear ended a tandem axle Transit bus on the freeway. The bus was able to make it to the side of the freeway ,but the semi was disabled in the center lane of I-5 in the Fife,Wa area.

I pulled in behind the tow truck & went up & asked him if he was able to move the rig. He stated it wont start. I told him I have a 4cyl Ford Ranger with a hefty front bumper & If he would put it into Neutral I would try to push him off the side of the freeway.

To my surprize My little 2.3 Ranger was able to do the task.

Heres a pic I took after I got him off to the side of the freeway.

Oh hell yeah, brother!

das wut i'm talkin about!!!!!

take smaller pics next time... lol.

well it was taken from my ONLY cell camera I have & even tried to enlarge it in photobucket ,but the larger it got the blurrier it got.

After I pushed him I even set out 2 of my own road flares & the Wa. State Patrol that should up a few moments later reimbursed me with 4 flares.

He & the Tow truck driver were surprised also & the State Patrol was doubt full that his cruiser would of been able to push the Tow truck.

Well he may not of been able to even though he has a v-8 as I beleive most Crown Vic cruisers are running 3.21 or 3.23 gears, pretty high gears for pushing

youd be surprised what you can do as long as youve got the right gears and traction... regardless of the engine...

Finally, someone to back up what I've been planning!

I've got a weed-eater motor that I'd like to have swapped into my off-roading F-250.

Want to help me get the right gears so that I can pull stumps and climb 40* inclines?

They don't really have a good place to push from, the grille guard is mainly to protect the radiator and of course the plastic bumper is mainly for looks.

Never know, rolling weight isn't that hard to move, it is the dragging that is a bugger. That is what I noticed pulling a 20k lb tractor pulling sled with a 45hp 5k lb tractor... its pretty easy until that weightbox starts to put weight on the skid.

Most any vehicle can get a large load rolling. It's the stopping part that can get interesting.

Yeah, it's still kinda cool, but agreed; rolling weight is easy to move. If a scrawny kid like me can push an F250 across level ground from a standstill a Ranger pushing a truck like that seems like a cakewalk.

Don't get me wrong, props for making Rangers look totally baller

The little engine that could. :icon_thumby:

Good job! I thought my Explorer was mighty when it pulled a 10 wheeler out of an icy dock ramp at work, and the UPS truck out of a mud hole. Your story trumps either of mine! Not bad work for a little 2.3 liter.

LOL - I was about to say the same thing.

i pulled my friends fat sister out of an all you can eat buffet once, everyone was shocked i could. danm truck is still leaning..

im so going to hell.......
