Did Ford make a factory v8 ranger for the public

Oh you can... really? So where’s your Bronco?

Our dealer has one demo en route (shipped) with another one in the works yet.

So then a guy just has to wait for the dealership owner to put the minimum amount of miles on it before he can sell it and viola for only a substantial markup over sticker it can be yours!

So yeah not exactly today but they are close to hitting the streets for real.

I honestly think you will get the same 2.7L in a Ranger in a couple years... times have changed.

I still love a solid V8... but those dreams in a Ranger left long ago.

Honestly... the more I think about buying a new vehicle... with the numbers they develop with these smaller displacement engines... I'm ok with it. I'm going to be more into reliability with good capability.

If and when I decide I want to go fast and make a bunch of noise... I will just build something the way I want it.

If it’s the same deal as the BS... 4K miles or 4 months.

All that and it's not even a 12 second truck lol awful.
I thought the same thing, A friend had a highly built VW that turned in the high 10's over 40 years ago

What's this "NEW" Ranger forum you speak of? THIS is THE Ranger Forum.

I don't think they had enough suspension/tire for the power, press people were easily in 13's on their first run. With more tuning and experience with the truck the times would go down.

The instructions from Dempster were to not “immediately hammer down on the pedal at the green” but to firmly and consistently apply the accelerator until you reached the floor over a time span of about 1.5 seconds.

Woe to those journalists who didn’t listen to this bit of advice because they quickly found the rear tires spinning and smoking while the truck stood still and spectators ogled or the stump pulling torque began forcing them right into the other lane until they let off on the pressure they were applying to the pedal.

Let me just say that my first run was great. Not perfect, but great. I lined myself up next to a stock Lightning for the ¼-mile sprint and when the lights turned green at the bottom of the “Christmas tree” I hit the pedal just like Dempster suggested and within the first few feet I pulled away from the Lightning and reached the end of the track in 13.8 seconds at 102mph. The whine and roar of the 5.4-liter easily penetrated my helmet and if there had been a passenger next me in the truck they could have seen my grin right through my Nomex balaclava.
