Did 2.3s come with headers?

My friend was looking at my engine after we lowered my truck. He was amazed to see headers. Did they come stick with these or were they put on there. I can see a place where they were welded to the downpipe. There also is hardly any rust on them. I can take pictures if needed.
 
it started in 93. they changed from the old style manifold to the newer header style. but that dosen't mean his is stock. :)
 
Here are some pictures. I think that someone installed these as there is hardly any rust on them.

That's about what mine look like with 230k.
 
Mine look pretty good, too, after 378k miles. Those stock headers were one of Ford's better ideas, and they were well-made to boot.
 
I was surprised (pleasantly) to find headers when I bought my 94.
 
Yea my 97 has the same header, its factory, just looks damn good for factory, mine looks even cleaner, i have 73K miles on mine :)
 
Mine looked really good when I painted them a nice blue to match the valve cover...unfortunately, I didn't realize they can reach 1200* or higher and the paint burned off in about three minutes into the first time I started the engine...

But they did look really nice painted...:)

I feel your pain! i painted mine silver and it just turned into a smoking, horrible smelling... thing

I do remember the smell...I started the truck in the garage with the doors closed...
