So i got myself a 97 4x4 and to say the least it is almost addictive owning it. Kind of wierd..but i really like the truck...and the more shit the unexpectingly breaks on it the more i get to know it, and the more iget to like it. BUT IM SOON TO RESTORE IT....SO BELOW ILL LIST MY HAPPY BEGINNING....

So here is what has happened since i have owned it.

RF shock fell out while 15 miles up into bear country and was not fixable..(i was hunting.)

drive shaft fell out on highway :icon_surprised: while pulling out of a breakfast joint. (i was about to go hunting again) basically poopied myself when that happened. (i was an hour away from any town)

My Diff over heated while driving and sprayed fluid all over my exhaust and blinded me to the point that i almost got hit when i was pulled over on the side of the road. (i had just got done hunting)

I got some leveling springs from a buddy and well they where a little more than leveling springs. Now im towed out like crazy.....:icon_confused:

Still towed in i went to schwabies to get some cambers, got them and started installing or well(basically it was about midnight when i stopped trying toget my right front camber out and had to just put my old one back in the left side.)

next day i found out that my front end was busted up and had an older mid 80's front put in her and my camber for a 97 wont fit in that year....:bawling:

um still love the ranger(danger i am slowely learning why they have that saying)

Oh and i learned that my radiator needs to be fixed and if i ride 2nd gear to long going slow on a dirt road my engine gets angry and overheats.(found out that turing the heat will help lower your engine temps, but on a 95* day having the heat and two windows down is not any kind of air conditioning.)

speaking of air conditioning...for some reason mine doesnt work...lol....but it sure does blow hot air.... :icon_rofl:

ummmm, yah so my whole adventure with my truck has been a blast and im looking forward to fixing all its little problems and quirks.

ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH THERE TRUCKS LIKE THIS BEFORE....BEAT BEGINNERS?

OH AND THIS WAS ALL IN 2 WEEKS....

MUST MEAN IM A TRUE RANGER ENTHUSIAST....PROBABLY NOT, I JUST GOT A REALLY GOOD DEAL. lol

I must have been the only one to have seen this one come at me huh? lol...well i got her up and fixed...soon to fix it up and get her lifted 6 inches suspension.

you are looking for a response?

In less than an hour?

On a wednesday morning?

everytime u go hunting your truck gets something broken..seems to me that the truck doesnt like hunting...

If I had those type of problems with my truck I'd be in love with it too. If that's what you like I've got a couple of other trucks that you'd absolutely adore.

lol

:icon_rofl:

LOL i know how you feel, my 88 was like that, it was my 1st ranger, and the biggist piece ever! but i still have it and love it, i spent more money fixxin it then i payed for it (or its worth, or ever was worth) even thought i got a new ranger, i would never sale it, it taught me so much, it still runs (when it wants to), now its just a project truck, when i have free time.

And about the driveshaft falling off, same thing happened to my buddy, we were trying to take his truck to get inspected ( a jacked up, old toyota) and we were going down the high way, and hit 70, which is rare in that truck. and this is how it went:

Buddy: Oh $H!T we are passing people!! Iv Never Hit 70 in this truck before!
ME: HAHA Better Watch it, your gonna Blow the engin!
BAM!!!!! BAM!! (Grinding Noise!)
Buddy: What the!
We pulled over, and i look and saw there was a huge cut between the 2 bucket seats in the floor of the cab, we get out and the drive shaft is layin on the ground only hangin on to the back axel. it hit a few lines and bent them but diddint brake anyhting.
Turns out he only bolted it on with 2 bolts instead of 4. lol

It took him 3 tries to get it up to town to inspect it, every time somthing else messed up half way up there! lol.

yup just about how my truck is...ill have to post some pics of mybeauty...or maybe my non beauty.....

thanks for the replys guys....freaking hellarious!
