My check engine light came on the other day on my 89 Ranger 2.9 4x4. I have a reader for the EEC-IV system but for the life of me I can't find the connector. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

ODB-1 are under the hood, if yours is anything like mine it is between the blower motor and passenger fender.

^^^ That's where I've found mine on earlier years, sometimes stuffed down behind so it's hard to see.

Thanks. It is pretty crowded in that area so I must have just missed it. Is it on the fender or firewall?

IIRC It feeds out from the firewall but is connected to the inner fender. The connection you're looking for is in between the fender mounted relay box and the heater box.

Found it. It had fallen down into the harness nest of wires. Pulled my codes and KOEO passed but I had a 41 in the stored. Looked it up and it looks like a lean condition from the O2 sensor. Guess it's going to be replaced. Thanks for your help.
