It was a ricer surviver. When I got it it had silver flames on the doors and holes in the trucklid where there had been a spoiler. My gf at the time liked the flames so they stayed as long as she did and left shortly after we broke up... I never regretted it. I kept it stock because I was in college and it was my only set of dependable wheels. I pretty much just worked to pay for the insurance with a clean record, let alone any hop up parts. Plus I liked only hearing the turbo wind up and none of the four cylinder sound.
I sold it after I got my F-150, I do miss the 25mpg no matter what and about 30mpg if I babied it. It was a freaking riot to drive and it looked the part... it would be fun to still have it, I do sometimes question why I picked my Ranger for a project vehicle over it, it had a lot more going for it (it ran almost perfect and had very little rust with 170k miles, compared to a tempermental underpowered V-6 and a well used truck body) It had a ticking lifter when cold and if it idled for awhile it would smoke a little (likely leaking seals on the turbo), fix those issues and touch up where the clearcoat was starting to peel on the roof and it would have been a nice showcar/cruiser.
After I get the 302 in the Ranger I wouldn't mind picking up another, they are a pretty neat car inside and out IMO.
