Hey do any of you guys know of any mufflers that make the 3.0 sound deeper? By deeper, i mean that it doesn't sound like a rice burning euro car. One of my buddies put cherry bombs on his toyota, and it sounds like it belongs on the set of Fast and the Furious 4. I hate that sound. I have had a hard time locating any cat back systems. I know that Dynomax offers one. http://www.dynomax.com/products/cat_lookup/catlookup.asp(put light truck, then ranger, etc.) If I can't find a good system, Ill just keep it stock. Any reccomendations?

flowmaster 40 series muffler, the rangers have like 6 cats which as you can imagine gets pretty restrictive and quiet, so the flowmaster allows it to flow more freely and give it a deep sounding tone

Magnaflows on a 3.0 sound pretty decent. I had one setup on y 2004 3.0 for a while. I have a si/do cherrybomb extreme with no pipe after it on now and it sounds good. Ill give you the link for the magnaflow clip and if you like, i can get you a clip of the extreme exhaust.

Why does everyone bother with buying a "Cat back system"?? just buy a damn muffler and then take to a shop and have it welded on with some new pipe the way YOU want it...Bought my magnaflow for 65 off ebay, put on for 70...its sounds really mellow, sounds good for a V6..

I unfortunately don't have enough time to get it welded and all that shit. I am lucky if I have time to change my oil usually. Cat-back systems just bolt on. Anyways, my tail pipe has a hole in it so unless I just put a down pipe on the back of the exhaust, I need a replacement.

OH..I hear ya about the time issue...Well i guess keep lookin then, if not try to take a day off or something...

A day off... What's that? Ha ha. Yeah, I'll either have to get the catback system or rig one of my own. They are a bit on the pricey side just for some extra pipe. Then again, I can just leave it like it is; It has been getting louder recently- I reckon it has a couple of leaks!

i got a dynomax cat-back for I think $140 from performance products, figured I'll need it sooner or later and it sounds pretty mellow, quiet actually but that's only so far...

What in the world does the type of transmission have to do with how the exhaust sounds? If you can give me a solid concrete reason than i shall retract my statement.

I've got 2 1/2" pipe and a flowmaster 40 on mine. It is not too loud in the cab and doesn't sound ricey at all. Has a nice, deep, melow tone.

I think that I am going to go with the flowmaster 40, but with single inlet/outlet. It sounds pretty good to me. Thanks, guys.
