So here's the delimma:

I've got a cracked head(s) on my '97 4.0 OHV Ranger.

I've got a deal thru O'reilly's for 2 heads, fully assembled for $175 a piece. I think the warranty is 1 year.

I've got a deal thru a salvage yard for a full 4.0 OHV engine for 375 plus shipping. That includes a 90 day warranty tho.

Any suggestions? I can install everything myself but headwork is beyond my tools/abilities. The truck is a DD (fiance drives it about 10 miles to work daily). Its sipping on the coolant and I've found a lil in the oil last oil change. I've got a wheeling trip planned for september.

Long story short, cant really afford to have the truck undriveable for too long and I'd like to have it repaired in a month. Id appreciate any advice ;)

I'd personally get the new head (i'm assuming they are remans)

Try to not drive it with coolant in the oil, the bearings won't like it.
