So I'm thinking of going sas on my ranger, Not that I really need it, I aint broke a stock 35 axle yet (knock on wood) I really need lower gears as my 3.0 and 34s
hate each other. Wile going thro the craigslist I found a dana 44/9" with 4.56s on the cheap. Cheaper than I could regear my 35/8.8. My biggest concern is steering. Do I use the a bronco/f150 steering box and drop pitman arm?
Allso can I use my coils? I have skyjacker 6" atm I know there not flexy but they work for now. Trying to see if i'm willing to do this or not. I just now got my truck up and going after 2 years and my front end is in pretty bad shape, as the u joints and wheel bearings are shot, as the leaking axle seals on the back don't make it any better.

Sounds like you'll have to rebuild iether axle. I would swap if you don't mind full width. Keep in mind there's lots of brackets you'll have to buy tho, if you plan to make it a mostly bolt on swap.

TTB coils will flex on a solid axle much like they do on the TTB (there's a reason many of us switch away from TTB coils even on TTBs).

Agreed, you may as well count on rebuilding those axles too (and 4.56 still isn't deep enough to make a 3.0L happy with 34s either). FWIW, bad u-joints, seals & wheel bearings is pretty minor IMO. Shouldn't be more than $1½ bills to replace it all with good Timken & Spicer stuff.

Plus hell need new rims. That's the cost of the replacement stuff for the ttb. Shop around for a d35 pig with 4.88s. Legoms has one. I think he said 400$.
