Update for 5/2/17
Okay, so those of you who are following along, I said I'd be trying for weekly posts. I think that was a little overzealous. To be fair to everyone, finals hit me like a ton of bricks...
So to speed everyone up.
The rattling noise? Frozen U Joints in the rear drive train. Figured this out when the rear axle mating u joint snapped and dropped my drive train. Luckily I was pulling out of a parking lot so I couldn't have been going more than 5mph and only dragged it about 5 feet. Take a look.
Replaced them all with Moog Superstrength 280s and got them all greased up.
Funny thing is, most of my problems went away. My engine runs cooler, I have a little quicker response in first gear and a tiny bit more power. My clutch is behaving.... But I bought the parts and I rented the hydraulic lift... might as well replace them.
So tomorrow I will be headed down to Garage Yourself in Miami, FL.
Highest priority is the clutch assembly.
New Rear Main Seal
New Pilot Bearing
New Severe Duty Flywheel
New Clutch plate
New Pressure plate
New Slave Cylinder w/ Throwout bearing
New Transmission Seal
New Mercon V Fluid.
If time allows I will also be replacing the water pump with a New water pump. I replaced the old one with a certified refurb, but it isn't moving coolant, so its gotta go. With that being said, I have also removed and replaced all hoses that seem to have weak flow or leaks. T Stat stays put as I just replaced it in March.
Last priority, but will probably happen due to convenience, tire rotation. While they are off, I'll be taking a look at the brakes. They were service a year ago and replaced completely three years ago according to the research I've been doing.
I will be posting a ton of photos from tomorrow's job.
"Stay tuned for more"
As for the tires, and everyone's comments.
I really do appreciate everyone's input. You've all helped me diagnose about half my problems.
