Why... in the name of all things holy would you mount the USB port facing straight down right in front of the cup holder and not include a cover! The car only has 4,000 miles on it and I already had to tear the whole console apart to put a new port in it!

"Cause that aint a cup holder, It's a round cell phone/change holder.

The design engineer never spills anything. So he didn’t realize how absolutely stupid that placement really is.

It wasn't even that I spilled anything in it. It just got filled with dirt and crud! I keep my car fairly clean but I do use it for fishing and occasionally have my lunch in it. It's just impossible to keep clean. Right now I'm just leaving a charging cable plugged into it to keep it clean until I find a cover.

Get your crap together Ford!

First time I drove the car with flip flops on I slashed open my heel from the razor sharp seat tracks that stick out insanely far. Had to grind that down. You also can't drive this stupid thing with big winter boots on because there is part of the vent duct right above the brake and gas so when you move your foot between pedals it gets stuck.

Here lately I've became less and less of a Ford man because of their lack of ambition. Chevy is doing 10x more shit than Ford and Ford just hopes they keep sellin F150's.... Get your shit together Ford. No one want's an outdated truck with limited options compared to Chevy. Does Ford have built in hot spots? onstar? small trucks that actually have decent packages like the Zr2 and Z71 instead of "well for an extra $3k for this package will get you a...... well..... an engine cover and different trim. Sorry ya'll but I've been liking Ford less and less everyday. Chevy's doing some amazing stuff (not so much their plant management) and Ford has yet to be able to compete in pricing or factory options.

Ford does have WiFi. Granted it is worthless in our area because that cell network isn't supported around here...

FX4 is a pretty stout offroad package. Like Z71 and TRDOR. ZR2 and TRD Pro remain unanswered though.

Chevys dependability is still atrocious though... not as bad as fiat/chrysler but still pretty miserable. I'll sacrifice fancy for reliability any day and ford trucks are still the most reliable things on the road. The fiesta on the other hand seems like it was assembled in a toy factory by drunk toddlers. But it cost 12 grand and gets 40mpg, if it lasts me 5 years ill have gotten my moneys worth. I just needed a cheap new car with a good warranty and good mileage. I have my mkx for weekends and the ranger for truck stuff.

I'll have to disagree about dependability. I work with a lot of guys with chevy trucks and they are here everyday with no issues where as I have an issue about every other day. The one guy has a similar year s10 with 250k and he has less issues than I do at 120k.

When s10s still existed GM wasnt a crap factory. :icon_rofl:

My 93 s10 was a tank.

My ‘93 Ranger didn’t even come with a USB charging port. I had to install my own!!

I've lost faith in engineers. The more tech engineers add to a product, the less faith I have.

As far as S10s go, I had a friend that was a diehard S10 guy. Wheeling with him, the Ranger was a better option as an off-road truck, although I don't ever remember his S10s having transmission issues.

But now, I'm not so sure who offers the better truck. I love this 2019 Ranger, but I camped next to a guy at Overland Expo that had a Colorado with a diesel that got low to mid 20's MPG, and he was hauling more stuff than I do. He even had a truck cap with a roof top tent mounted on top. I couldn't get 20mpg if I had a hurricane as a tailwind. Plus, you can get a Bison with a snorkel and front locker.

Ford should drop the 2.3 EB and replace it with the 2.7 EB. That motor should be able to deliver a better MPG and not have to work as hard.

The Ranger could be the best truck in its class, but as a factory offroad capable truck, I doubt they'll be a leader. Especially with Jeep joining the club. It wouldn't take much, but at this point, it would probably be cheaper to buy a basic 4x4, and build it up yourself.

There's not that much to figure out when it comes to cars. When it comes to trucks, Ford has always been about payload. Just make it capable of carrying more than other trucks, and give it the comfort of a car. But when it comes to a true offroad adventure vehicle, I'm not confident that Ford understands the customers wants and needs. And I don't think their open to suggestion.

IMO Chevy has always been good at taking another company's idea, and making it better. Have you seen the tailgate on the New Sierra? They laughed at ford 250's Man-step a few years ago, then BAM, the same idea, but better execution. Oh, ya'll want I4 w/turbo's? Chevy has a 2.7 liter I4 turbo, the biggest in the market.

I know that sounds harsh, especially since Ford has given me a Ranger to drive for 6-months. But I've been a Ford Ranger advocate for 20 years, and I don't like seeing it behind the competition.

Agreed Jim. It stings a little knowing Ford is playing catch-up in a segment it was so dominant in.
EDIT: at least in the U.S. market
