I have an '02 Ranger and the Red Brake Light on the dashboard stays illuminated. I know this usually indicates the E-Brake is engaged however the E-Brake is not engaged. Does this warning light indicate any other issues with the Brakes?

TIA!

It could also mean that your break fluid in the master cylinder is low.

Which would mean that you have a leak, or your front brake pads are worn just about down to nothing.

Or if it's like my truck try pushing the pedal down a fraction (to a point where the brrake wouldn't be engaging), releading it qickly and see if it goes out. Then pull up on the pedal and see if it goes out. My truck it flickers when I realease it and when I lift the pedal manually, hey presto! the light goes out. I don't know if a spring is gone but it is irritating because on my Canadian truck the DRL's are tied into that switch. I would care more if I didn't always turn on my lights instinctively. A fringe benefit of driving a 1984 Olds I guess:icon_rofl:

Have the same light that stays on in my 91 since I bought it. I've chacked all my cables and can't find anything wrong either and yes, I've checked for leaks and low fluid too. My dash also has the rear ABS light on all the time too and can't figure out why either.

Most likely a problem with the rear speed sensor for the rear wheel ABS in the rear differential. Remove the sensor from the top of the rear diff housing and check and see if its covered in a bunch of crap. It will attract metal bits and shavings as it is magnetic.
