So I know this has probably been asked and discussed but I can’t find it anywhere.(yes I tried to search it). But will a dash from a 99 explorer bolt in a 90 bronco 2? Reason i ask is we are buying my wife a 90 bronco 2 and i have access to a 99 explorer with a good 5.0 , trans and transfer case. Its an Eddie Baure snd its loaded body is beat up and rusty but otherwise in great shape bronco 2 is in great shape but it has a pretty tired 2.9 and auto trans. Id like to swap the drivetrain, and dash to make the wiring easy and update the interior looks and comfort

Is it possible? Yes. Bolt in? Definitely not. There are many little differences in the dash, firewall, pedals, wiring, etc that you will have to work through. But it can be made to fit.

Thanks that answers my question.Im more worried about physical fitting. Ive seen a 95+ ranger in a 89 ranger just wasn’t sure it had the same footprint. Ive done an sn95 dash swap on a fox body not too worried about the fab

As far as I am aware, the 3rd gen Ranger dash is the same or very similar to gen 2 Explorers. Early 3rd gen Rangers have a dash identical to 2nd gen Rangers so using that logic I would assume that what you want to do will physically fit pretty well, just may need the mounts and other things modified. Keep us posted with a build thread if you decide to do it.

The dash will physical fit. Nothing will line up worth a damn. The entire HVAC system will need to be swapped, all of the mounting points for everything is different. Your best bet would be to cut out and swap the firewall.

Anything will fit with enough duck tape...
