Has anyone ever swapped to the newer style dash or seen any threads about it? i like my old dash but am really wanting the new style. i know the heater controls and things like that are different. would i need new door panels too? what else would i have to swap other than the dash? could i use an explorer dash?

thanks

You'd need the dash, door panels, all the wiring etc.... You are talking about some serious surgery. If you or someone you know hasn't done it before I'd pass on the idea, seriously. If the dash matters that much trade for a newer truck.

it doesnt matter that much i just wasnt sure how hard it would be

This has come up in other threads and the consensus I read was that it isn't possible. The mount points are different between the dashes, you have EEC-IV vs EEC-V differences (different wiring harnesses, cluster, etc.), and a host of other problems. Unless you have the electrical manual for both trucks and are feeling like repinning 100 wire harnesses, I'd say just get a new truck :)
